Hi All,

XX-4849 provides the support for per-user forward timer (default=20) on user > call forwarding screen , where the user can specify how long his phone should ring (20 sec) before the call gets forwarded to his voicemail box OR to the configured forwarding number.

Rather than watching transactions in the proxy, I think this should have been implemented by modifying contacts returned from the registration database (by adding the expires as a header parameter on the contact). Consider a user 300 has a per-user forward timer (default=20) and DOES NOT have voicemail and call forwarding configured. From user 301 dial user 300. Do not answer the call . How long should user 300 ring before getting disconnected?

According to me the user should ring for the 'offering timeout value' of the phone he is registered OR 180 seconds (default expiration, if the phone does not have a offering timeout defined)

Current Behavior:
-----------------
The user 300 rings for 20 seconds and then gets disconnected. (which is a very short duration) The contact returned in the 302 moved temporarily by sipregistrar shows the expires header as follows: Contact: <sip:[email protected];x-sipX-nonat;sipXecs-CallDest=INT?expires=20&ROUTE=%3Csip%3A176.25.10.207%3A5060%3Blr%3E>

Prior to per-user forward time implementation, the users who had no voicemail or call forwarding configured used to ring for 60 seconds(if polycom) or 180 seconds(default expiration) if SMC 3456 and LG-Nortel phones were used.

Please let us know the expected behavior.

Thanks,
Chaitra
