But we were talking about user recorded greetings, not files uploaded
via sipXconfig as prompts.  sipXconfig's database knows nothing about
these audio files.

My point of view is this:  the recorded greeting, and the selection of
that greeting are VoiceMail state--not configuration.  There is no
reason sipXconfig should know or care about either, including how they
are stored and in what format.  Currently, sipXconfig saves  the
selection state in the database (and is ignorant of the recording that
goes with it).  I feel that when sipXconfig needs to display or change
state, it should ask sipXivr to do that.
