Hi All,
Navigate to Features-->Instant Messaging
There we can find a checkbox 'Message Logging', If checked all local,
federated and groupchat IMs are logged to a file called
sipxopenfire-im.log.
Now Navigate to Features-->Conference, and from the conference page
click on IM Chat room--> show advanced settings.
There is a checkbox 'Conversation logging' which says 'If checked all
room conversation will be saved'
My query is when we have a message logging checkbox, which contains
all the message logging deatils, why do we require another checkbox
'Conversation logging' ?
There's no conflict or redundancy, and no issue needed. Being able to
control that all conversations for a particular room are logged
independently of whether or not all IMs in the system are logged is
appropriate.
Hi Scott,
1. 'Conversation logging' does not get logged when the 'Message Logging'
checkbox is disabled and 'conversation logging' checkbox is enabled.
In other words messages are logged only when 'message logging' is
enabled irrespective of 'conversation logging'. Would you please let me
know the idea behind 'conversation logging' when compare to 'message
logging'?
2. Also, the IM messages are logged in two different places when Message
logging is enabled, one in sipxopenfire.log and another one is
sipxopenfire-im.log.
Is it a design intent or a bug?
Thanks,
Archana
