Is it available to the public? If so, where? Will 4.2 live in there eventually? If so the rev numbers will all change making release numbers off, if not, merging will forever be a PITA. I am sure you know what you're doing, but seems like moving the repo in it's entirety to a new server and changing DNS would have been the easiest thing to do.
