There were actually 2 problems. I never resolved my dial plans issue and so i went with external aliases file which seemed to work fine although a little more messy IMHO. As far as freeswitch configs, I did discover you cannot seem to have 2 separate xml files each defining the "default" context. So instead, I edited the velocity template file to insert my configs into the existing configs. I don't understand freeswitch enough to know what an extra profile would do for performance.
