Starting with rev. 18944 of release 4.2, the format of the "alias.xml" file (and its corresponding IMDB table) have changed. This change is needed to fix issue XX-8438 (Need ability to pickup calls using aliases). The first official release in which it will be seen is 4.2.2, and users upgrading from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 will have their system's alias.xml file converted automatically.
However, users who run non-official releases will have to update the file themselves. This can be done easily by doing the following steps in this order: 1. Upgrade the software. 2. Restart sipXecs. 3. Push profiles. (Now that sipXconfig and sipXsupervisor are running the new code, the profile files can be pushed correctly.) 4. Restart sipXecs *again*, so that the components see the new profile files. Once you have upgraded the software, the Registrar component will not start until you perform the remaining steps.
