No we are using the CentOS ISO installation for our production systems,
and a client of ours is using the Red Hat distribution with 4.2.1
What combination do you recommend? We want to build in 4.2.1 for a
CentOS installation and for a Red Hat installation

Fedora 10 was the only compatible version to build 4.2.1.  There were
numerous fixes to support higher Fedoras that went into 4.4.  Are you
on Fedora for production?
