Josh,

I checked my minimum session-expires setting, this was set to 10, so
probably this is not the setting?

But we don't want to solve this issue in our gateway...

Is there no way to configure a phone to send something like a
keep-alive?

Andy also replied the setting where freeswitch is being set to this 5
minutes, so perhaps we could increase this, but it still seems like a
wrong thing to do...

Interesting, my mediant 1000 didn't disconnect the call after 90 seconds
of no audio. It seems that 90 seconds matches the "Minimum
Session-Expires" value under SIP general parameters....Correlation is
not causation however...

This is true,

You can retrieve the call and place it back in hold again for as many
times as you like.

But is it possible to increase this timeout so that a call can be longer
on hold than 5 minutes?

Our gateway (mediant) disconnect the call when no RTP stream is detected
for 90 seconds, so after music on hold is stopped the caller will be
disconnected after 90 seconds.

Perhaps you know a way to increase these 5 minutes?

Tested this and found the same issue however it doesn't seem to affect
the ability to retrieve the call or place it back on hold with music
again. Could you verify this as well Henry?

Subject: [sipx-dev] Music on Hold timeout

Hi all,

I encountered something funny today with calls on hold

I placed a call on hold for a long time, say a couple of minutes

I noticed that the music on hold was stopped at about 5 minutes, my
gateway reacts a minute and a half later with a response for "RTP broken
connection"

Is there any way to increase this time out on music on hold?

Kind regards,
