Yes Mike....The file size is huge if we include the device files....Configuration file size is around 120mb including device file but configuration file is 10mb without device file...Just now I closed the issue....Any opinion from dev team to re-open?

yea but with the size of config files it makes backups huge...

this can be even more of a pain if you're trying to restore a system remotely with upload times as they are...

this was why it was asked for...

Actually in 4.4 also device file is backed up as the part of
configuration file.....As the issue is created to have
        separate option
for device file and not include as part of configuration
        backup(But we
should restore both device and configuration file)

We do not need a separate archive for device files anymore, as we
do not send emails when performing backup
The original requirement for XX-9945 was because archive gets too
big if we include device files in it and cannot be sent via email.
This is not the case now.

On the other hand, device files are somehow dependent of
configuration archive as there are entries in the DB regarding
    device files,
so it makes a lot of sense to keep them in the configuration archive
