The second IP address would only be used if for whatever reason the primary address/connection is going to be down. We would then go into sipx and set the primary public IP address to be the backup. It would be nice sipx would handle dual public IP's automatically but that is another subject. In this case sipx is sending back a 500 on the primary about 50% of the time. I am surprised (pleasantly) that the call does connect on the backup IP/ISP even though we didn't switch the public IP in sipx. The backup IP is a domain alias.
The same rules on each ISP connection are used. The packets are not rejected as the capture is taken at the firewall and the 500 response comes from sipx. An identical request later will work. See the packet captures in my previous post. > > i'd setup another box with sipxbridge on it also and the different > outside IP. I noticed this buy accident when investigating the ACD overflow not working and leaving the outside caller stranded with MOH. -- Regards -------------------------------------- Gerald Drouillard Technology Architect Drouillard & Associates, Inc. http://www.Drouillard.biz _______________________________________________ sipx-dev mailing list [email protected] List Archive: http://list.sipfoundry.org/archive/sipx-dev/
