Andreas,
I haven't say that it's not possible to reboot a phone, until it's
registered. I just say that sipx is not able to reset the phone, when it is
not registered. The thing is sipx sends NOTIFY with "check-sync", and it
does not know where to send the message when the phone is not registered.
Yes, sure, you can reboot and manage the phone through it's web interface,
but if you need configuring the phone through sipx then the phone can only
get new configuration during reboot.
If the phone is configured to use dhcp address, then during reboot it'll get
"tftp server name" via dhcp option 66, go to the specified tftp server and
get configuration file. This worked for me with spa942.
The phone must be configured to use dhcp.
This is my understanding how it works.
Nikolay.
