Hi,

There is no sequence to activate MoH on sipx. UA must support MoH draft, and
UA must know where the MoH service is, that is UA must have appropriate
configuration option, and you must provide a value for this option -
~~mh~@<sip_domain_name>. For some phones sipx does it automatically (creates
config file with this option).

HTH,

Nikolay.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, and the link for the Music on hold call flow. I
however, did not understand regarding the MoH server URI that you mentioned
below. Is it different from a SIP URI? What is the sequence/ where can I set
the sequence to activate Music On Hold on the sipx pbx? Also does the User
agent need to support MoH as a separate feature or any UA capable of
supporting simple Hold can do this?

Thanks in advance,

Padmaja

Subject: [sipx-users] Music on hold

Hi all,

Please tell me the call flow and what is the number sequence to initiate
music on hold using SIPX? For instance, in the SIPXecs web interface I saw
that *74 or some sequence initiates call parking etc., For music on hold, I
could change the wave files and upload different ones but could not find the
sequence that I can dial from the UA to initiate the music on hold feature.
Does the music on hold feature require special abilities in the UA or any UA
capable of performing simple Hold sequence can do it? Also please let me
know if a doc for invoking this feature available in sipfoundry site?

Thanks again,

Padmaja
