Hi Tony, I might try that next year - as it is working fine for now, I have other priorities, such as setting up openvpn so that we can connect softphones from remote locations.
The Skype gateway I use is siptheeskype, which is software based. I'm not much into Skype myself, and would rather use SIP (such as sipgate.co.uk), but the reality is that many people use Skype, so it makes sense for us to integrate it.
