Thanks. That will help me finish this up. I was having difficulty getting bandwidth.com to accept calls from one of my ip addresses, when I changed the trunk to a manual one and input the IP address instead of the domain name, I was able to get more information out of the logs that told me the IP was not allowed. Before I deconstruct the manual configuration, I just wanted to understand this better.
Ranga, why would the logging not show me the "403 - Ip not allowed access" when using ot.bandwidth.com, but would when using the IP address on a manual trunk? I had the logging for media/proxy/sipXbridge all at debug. The phone (xlite) actually showed me the message too after I got it wo fail using the IP address. Is some of the logging somehow suppressed using a predefined template suggesting certain messages wouldn't be transmitted? >>> "Robert Joly" <[email protected]> 05/12/09 1:10 AM >>> dig -t srv _sip._udp.ot.bandwidth.com ; <<>> DiG 9.3.4 <<>> -t srv _sip._udp.ot.bandwidth.com ;; global options: printcmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 13786 ;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 2, AUTHORITY: 3, ADDITIONAL: 0 ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;_sip._udp.ot.bandwidth.com.
