The simplest way to set up sipX and DNS is to have the "SIP domain" of sipX be the same as the DNS name of the sipX host. This is not a particularly good setup for a real production PBX, but it is the simplest setup for learning. I'm not so familiar with the configuration set up by the ISO, but the usual sipX configuration is for sipX to have a TFTP server, so I expect that the ISO does that.
