We only had it up and running for less than a week now, but we are planning to
mimic all the functions of existing avaya ip office in the coming week, we will
know more soon. So far, we only tested the most basic functions, like voice
mail, conference call, transfer, etc. more testing need to be done on ACD
queue, call recording (3rd party software needed). We tested Polycom Soundpoint
501, and CISCO 7940. Polycom phones do work better in this case. Cisco phones
have some small glitches, maybe firmware or sipx configuration file (I'm not
quite sure)

Any recommendation for SIP trunking provider in North America?

No such problems when we use virtual containers from OpenVZ.

container/jail type solutions is the only virtualization i would consider for
production sipx use. paravirtualized setups always have timing problems.

this is a question that comes up on the list all the time, if you search the
archives you'll find tons of threads about it.

the bottom line is: a whitebox pc with 2gb of ram and an old cpu running sipx
on bare metal will probably perform better than a virtual machine with full
access to your box's resources.

daniel: how much and what kind of testing have you done?
