I have a pair of 450's for testing and noticed I could not intercom between them as well. While I haven't spent the time to determine with any certainty, my suspicion is it's a problem with the 450's. Have you tried intercom between the 650's? That should work. If it doesn't, it's likely another issue (configuration of firmware).
