I had to manually define the $releasever to get the upgrade to work.
Once it was set the upgrade was easy as p.ossible (I did 2 HA systems, so 
4 boxes).

Somehow the $releasever variable is not set when you install from iso, 
either set it to your (centOS) version or
edit the repo file:

vi /etc/yum.repos.d/sipxecs-stable-centos.repo 
change "$releasever" to "5"
