Ok. Thanks for clarifying this. Is it possible to consider tls on certain
"zones"?

Certainly as an option in conneCing to ITSP's ( should they also support it)
and remote users.
Phone (endpoint) support makes the most immediate sense to me. Seconded by
ITSP/siptrunk connections.

It also makes sense for secure tls connections (whether this be via siptrunk
or unmanaged gateway)  between branches via the internet (no vpn).

Not yet, since we don't really know what needs to be done.  The work I
am doing is "infrastructure" work that is necessary, but not visible at
the user level.  We first need to get people's opinions/votes on how and
where they want TLS supported.
