Javamail for sending the email does a simple SMTP session, which may give an "OK" that it was accepted for delivery. Problem that's NOT been discussed is how to relay that back to the VM system and tell it it's OK to delete the message. Really, IMAP was meant to SYNC only, not be a one way street, because it's a phone system and not an email relay system.
Why not just have voicemail for the account delete after one day? Why not use the RSS feed coming in 4.2. The need for an email only platform for voicemail was never put on the roadmap. Surely if you want to submit a feature request it might be considered for the version after 4.2. As you think about your feature request, ensure that you voice your reasons why this needs to be in place, giving examples helps. >From a management perspective it needs to be deleted in a way that makes it retrievable off of my sipx system. Don't get me wrong, but you're late to this discussion (started over 2 years ago for IMAP). The devs really need to work on the functionality that is supposed to included in 4.2. It's sort of like changing the door height on a house and the doorway has been framed, doors painted, hung and the locks put on the door. It would be nice for them to be able to finish the job they started instead of a redo every time someone wanted something different. If that happens, it will stay under construction indefinitely. -- ====================== Tony Graziano, Manager Telephone: 434.984.8430 Fax: 434.984.8431 Email: [email protected] LAN/Telephony/Security and Control Systems Helpdesk: Telephone: 434.984.8426 Fax: 434.984.8427 Helpdesk Contract Customers: http://www.myitdepartment.net/gethelp/ Why do mathematicians always confuse Halloween and Christmas?
