gmail does not work since they don't support header searching. Yes, this is rather ironic for a Search company.

I was going to do this when I found out Groupwise has a very watered down IMAP implementation that didn't support the necessary IMAP functions (we have since decided to ditch Novell altogether and run Exchange because they wanted an $11,000 raise for the same licensing as last year). Essentially one IMAP server would be used exclusively for sipX to deposit voicemail to. GMail has IMAP access and I believe is known to work. Not sure about Yahoo. Is the idea to set up a dedicated IMAP server for voicemail that we have our users configure their email clients to access in addition to any servers/accounts they already have for email? Or are we having sipx authenticate with whatever existing IMAP servers are in use for email, and add voicemail messages to their existing email accounts? I'm guessing it is the latter. If so, this could be a challenge for me, because, while we do have an internal email server running exim, many of our users user external email services like Gmail and Yahoo. Thoughts? Unfortunately the email notification is rather vague so end users will need to be instructed on how to set their IMAP credentials in their user portal.
