Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Aastra 6730i Phones - any opinions/feedback???

Agreed about HD audio. There is no going back.

However, I don't see the 32x/33x series as being all that bad, albeit a
little cumbersome at times. In situations like on old Meridian systems where
a number of users had plain old analog handsets with no speaker phone (oh
yeah, lots of those where I work) the 335 is like night and day. I often
hear, "you mean we're getting caller ID? and we can see who's calling us
when we're on the phone?"

Also, I thought the 32x/33x series would show the call info on 2 lines of
text? Guess not.

Also, I have a Polycom 330 that I use exclusively for testing
and it does
everything it should. The 330 is an older version of the 331, which is
essentially a 321 with an extra ethernet port for connecting the computer
to. I have standardized on 335's, 550's, and 650's in my deployment.

                        Hi Josh,

Thank you very much for the reply!

I do not have the phones yet.

Just trying to find inexpensive phones that work.
Aastra 6730i phones are
about 25% less expensive than Polycom 321 phones… but if the features don’t
work then this is not worth the savings.

Does anybody know whether the Polycom 321 phones play
well with 4.2?

                        Thanks again, Marcello

If you already have them then you can use them, just
don't expect full
function from them (BLF doesn't work, I don't think Music on hold does
either)

If you're planning on buying stick with Polycom, end of
story.
