I've actually not encountered that problem - it's worked from a number
of Starbucks hotspots.

The main problem with using any iPhone SIP phone now is that they're not
running when the phone goes to sleep, so they're really only useful for
calls from the phone to somewhere else, but for that iSip is fine.
