I use an app on both the iPod touch and ipad called from Acrobits:
http://www.acrobits.cz/products/acrobits-softphone/. It is available
from the Apple App store. I have not tried it on the iPhone.
It works quite well on the iPad. On the iPod Touch, you need to plug in
an external mic into the headphone jack, and I found the sound pretty poor.
