I am not running a PAE kernel. Just sampling for anyone how it can be done to increase beyond 4GB of RAM on a 32 bit Centos distro.
I see this issue on bare metal, I was also suggesting more RAM is better, hence PAE. I think it is a worthy question for the dev list, because the fact that there is a hypervisor or not shouldn't matter if it happens on bare metal. If PAE is involved, it is NOT an issue, because all it does is increase the amount of available RAM above 4GB. If and when you have an issue, and it keeps sipxconfig from responding, Please open a jira and create a snapshot with: sipx-snapshot --logs current --log-start "2009-10-19 08:03:54" --log-stop "2009-10-19 08:17:54" Use the time period you made the change in and when it recovered. Use the above syntax as an example. When you create the jira, provide details about your environment and what you did, what you observed and alert the list in the event anyone has another snapshot to add to the issue.
