No really, reset the phones to defaults.

I am assuming you used sipxconfig to configure these phones.

The latest version these support is firmware 2.1.3 and bootrom 3.2.3

http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/sp_ss_sip/spip_ssip_2_1_3_rel_sig.zip
http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/sp_bootrom/BootRom_3_2_3RevB_release_sig.zip

I have sites running these version on sipxecs 4.2 with soundpoint ip
500's and THIS_ALWAYS_WORKS. Upload these files into device files.

Devices>Device Files>Add Files...Polycom Soundpoint

Name Last_Soundpoint_500 (apply), choose "Last_Soundpoint_500", choose
and browse to the firmware and bootrom and click APPLY. Once it
signals it has successfully uploaded it, click ACTIVATE and reboot the
phones manually if need be.

Assuming your DHC server is sending tftp info or you manually set ftp
info to the sipxecs server, it will pick these up. Once they have the
bootrom, firmware and config, "Deactivate" this bundle (it doesn't
play well with newer phones).

Activate and restart just the soundpoint IP 500's so they load the
bootrom and firmware, then deactivate as soon as they have finished
loading these.

I think the information todd posted was due to sipx not supporting
certain information between versions, and is not really something you
need to do today.

Why do mathematicians always confuse Halloween and Christmas?
Because 31 Oct = 25 Dec.
