Thanks to your very helpful hints and this thread,
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg13528.html

we were able to install SipX on Xen Server including the Xen Tools.

SipX is running on a FreeNAS NFS server that is the data store for two Xen
Server controllers that are in a pool.

We were able to move a running SipX machine from one server to the other
within about one minute while an active call was up. There was a short
interruption of a couple of seconds in the audio but no other issues. This
is quite remarkable (at least for me J) especially when you take into
account that all the Xen Server SW that makes this possible is open source
(including LiveMotion). Being able to move servers within a pool without
downtime opens up many possibilities for disaster recovery, easy maintenance
and backup of entire servers.

Thanks again,

Marcello

What I do is simply to install a basic 64 bit CentOS 5.4 install, install
ONLY the xen-tools RPM (do NOT run the install program as it replaces the
kernel) and then install the sipXecs from the ezuce repo (download
http://download.ezuce.com/sipfoundry/4.2.1/sipxecs-centos.repo and put it in
/etc/yum.repos.d) then run 'yum install sipxecs'

I have been running SipX on Xen Server successfully for quite some time.

However, there is one nagging issue that prevents LiveMotion which requires
the Xen Tools to be installed.

Did anybody figured out a way to install Xen Tools on a SipX virtual
machine???

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Kind regards,

Marcello
