You might be right but I didn't think the phones had a database record until
stored.

Now that I think about it, that might be something I need to peruse before I
do anything. Better do a backup!!

it may work unless it doesn't ;)   Very possible internal APIs that
the polycom phones uses changed in 4.0 but from DB schema and config
files, should work.

If it doesn't work, try replacing just the .vm files and setting xml
files. (e.g. not the jar)
