You might be right but I didn't think the phones had a database record until stored.

I > don't, but "that's me". it may work unless it doesn't ;) Very possible internal APIs that the polycom phones uses changed in 4.0 but from DB schema and config files, should work. If it doesn't work, try replacing just the .vm files and setting xml files.
