Yes, you can modify it but then you also have to overwrite the files you've edited in the .war file/s. It's a mess because when there is an update that changes things, it breaks it and you have to start all over again. You would almost be better off to find a way of making calls to each item from traditional html or other, having the item/s displayed in what ever way you wish. There is an API for sipx if I recall so this should to totally doable.
