I use Patton for FXO gateways, Audiocodes for everything else. I've not had one
lick of trouble out of my Mediant 1000. Audiocodes FXO gateways leave something
to be desired though...

I followed Mike, Tony and Jim's input and used a Patton SmartNode with one
customer - it's been up for about 6 months - no issues yet once it was setup
correctly. Seems to be very stable and reliable thus far.

Looking for opinions, and I know that folks here use a variety of makes
including the AudioCodes and Patton devices.

Requirements: 1 T1 interface.
Support: Required, 24/7 (a small shop with few people)
Redundancy: I have the budget, but do I really need it?
Ease of setup would be nice, but reliability is much higher on the list.

I have experience in setting up an AudioCodes MP114, and finally understand the
device (well enough, anyway).

The gateways I have looked at are the AudioCodes M1000, and the Patton
SmartNode SN4960, and will support a single site with simple DID routing
inbound. The back end will be replacing an Asterisk/Digium card setup with a
sipX and external gateway, supporting around 125 endpoints, mostly Polycom 650.

There will be some internal analog FXS gateways, but will issue separate
gateways for those due to geographic distribution througout the facility.

I've read through the list and found a few threads of the same, but about a
year old... wonder if anyone has some added opinions. Speaking with Marketing
folks has been less than ideal in helping me come to a decision.
