Welcome to the exciting world of sipX park-n-page!

Here's my current recipe for parking success.

1) Program EFK park keys that appear "on call" to park the call. This
is important because it insures the call call is blind transfered to
the orbit. Attended transfers are bad news in almost every aspect of
4.2.1 except phone to phone.

2a) Create a "pickup" EFK as Josh detailed "on Idle"

or

2b) BLF monitor a park orbit and pickup using a traditional BLF key.

Caveats:

2a will not allow you to see the park status
2b will allow you to see the park status but you must set your recall
timer to less than 60 seconds. After 60 seconds you won't be able to
retrieve the call on BLF, you must use *4x or *78
2b can still be problematic if users try to transfer directly to the BLF.

Results:

I tend to use 2b as long as the button real estate is available.
Since adding the EFK programming I haven't had any lock-ups and users
are happy to see the park status.

With 15-20 stations you could get by with 2 parks and retain the "old"
square key functionality.

My $.02
