I have encountered an issue concerning the redundancy in a HA-system. One of our partners encountered a failure on one of their sipXecs servers during the holidays, the master server had a hardware failure. It was expected that the secondary server should kick in to make calling internal and external possible, but this did not work. I tested this at our own HA test setup and noticed the following: - When I have my phones in the same VLAN as the HA system, it all works as aspected. - When I have my phones in a different VLAN with another DHCP and DNS it does not work. Our client also has to VLAN's (one for phones and gateway, and one for HA system), but they use IP-helpers to forward DNS and DHCP from one VLAN to another. It seems that when I use two VLAN's the redundancy does not work, I guess this has to do with the SRV records? Does anyone know, how I should setup my network to get my HA system to work with more than one VLAN? Kind regards, Henry Dogger Telecats BV
