I set up LDAP on a joomla site to test the accounts I've got on OpenLDAP and am able to log into the site. I know that joomla uses an MD5 password but I'm not sure if the LDAP plugin perhaps changes this to allow clear text or something else.
When I use the 'userPassword attribute for the 'SIP password attribute' section on sipx, I end up with a different looking password which appears to be encrypted. I am entering a clear text password in openldap using phpldapadmin but when sipx pulls it in, I'm getting an encrypted one which looks like the following.
