I would like to see ipv6 support. Sipxecs is one of 3 devices that does not
support ipv6.

It is interesting to see that almost nobody is interested in ipv6.
In my opinion it is something that has to happen in the coming years.
It's still a big question how fast the transition is going to be and
more importantly how fast the internal networks of companies are going to
change.
Adrien was brave and just did it, but most startups won't even think about it
(just use 10.x.x.x).

I think the "there is currently no need for IPv6" argument is understandable,
but (for what it's worth) I disagree. My
guess is that we will see issues with an IPv6 implementation and the sooner we
start developing/testing IPv6 support
the better the product will be when the need for IPv6 deployment becomes
reality.

I think that any OTT cloud based VoIP implementation will need IPv6 prior to
enterprise environments since this might be
an area where it sooner will be tricky for new service providers to get IPv4
addresses. Border devices will most likely
traverse and solve a lot of the addressing issues, but to get rid of NAT
problems with IPv6 sounds pretty good to me...

I fully understand the prioritization of resources, and since I'm not a
programmer I'm sad to say that I can't add much
value there, but I really think it would be a great feature to start working on
native IPv6 support to begin testing for
early/future deployments.

As far as I know, Asterisk, OpenSIPS, Kamilio and Freeswitch have at least some
IPv6 support already?

Thanks,
//Staffan
