1. the only SBC I can play with is the one integrated in sipx. I guess I have
to try dial plans to rewrite
2. I will try to ask them
3. I would just rename these non-sense terms for users ;)

Subject: Re: [sipx-users] rewrite inbound caller-ID

1. truncated digits - i don't know of a way to rewrite caller id on sipx. you
might be able to do this on a SBC. We had a provider who sent us prefixes,
which we stripped on inbound callers using a regexp in the dialplan to remove
the digits in the sbc, so it goes to sipx without the prefix. It would be
trivial to simply add a dialplan rule to strip the digit on outgoing calls so
it can be dialed back though.

2. anonymous cnam says asterisk - that's really a crappy implementation by the
provider. they need to change that. Sorry, in the US its actually against the
law to fool around with caller id stuff, carriers arent supposed to do that
kind of thing. Ask them to fix it!

3. IVR during call progress - That would be correct, because that is the
service they are actually connected to during the transfer (MOH, AA, VM, etc.).
Changing that makes no sense to me, because it is programatically correct.
Making it incorrect makes no sense (at least to me).

I cannot figure how to transform inbound caller-id presented
to local users:

First, my IPST truncates each first digit from caller-id, so
users cannot easily redial or see real numbers in history
(web & phone interface)... How to add it?
Second query : when anonymous inbound callers are coming,
they are tagged as "asterisk". My IPST has probably
rewritten blocked caller-id with that name... How to change
it?
Third, my users see "IVR" or "sipxbridge" during internal
calls, transfers, etc... How to rename them?

I saw options to transform outbound extensions, but nothing
for incoming calls.
Thank you!
