In my case, I have people using the server from many areas of the world, some as regular users, some only now and then. That number changes regularly so putting a limit of that type in didn't seem to work for me.
However, the log shows that this happened in a very short amount of time so stopping multiple connections coming from any one connection might be a solution. I'll go take a look at pfsense docs to see how I can do that. The logs however, that got me going.
