by following their deployment guidelines, they can record any rtp traffic
on yourt segment.

sipx has a proxy mechanism and prefers local calls (between users) to go
peer-to-peer when exchanging media/rtp. this means "recording" at a
component level in sipx wont record all your calls, escpecially if you use
an analog or digital gateway, tdm device or sbc. this is why you would need
a platform like oreca to record calls.
