I (and others) were asked off list the following:

Dear Mr. Hubler,

I was wondering if there have been any new developments with
regard to current OS compatibility between CentOS 6.x and sipXecs
(either v4.4 or v4.5 development builds).  We have an aging production
sipXecs v4.0.4 Server, and I have been tasked to start researching and
planning for the anticipated release of future version 4.6.  Once v4.6
becomes official, we plan to stand up an entirely new VLAN dedicated
to VoIP devices only.  The only hardware that will migrate from our
existing sipXecs network to the new one will be the telephones.

In summary, these are the items I am curious about right now:

1.)     Can sipXecs Version 4.4(.0-287) be installed on CentOS 6.2 to
be upgraded to 4.6 upon release?  If not. . .
2.)     Can sipXecs Version 0.0.4.5.2.x (development build) be
installed on CentOS 6.2 to be upgraded to 4.6 (Stable) later and
expect it to work properly in a production environment?

Thank you in advance for your time. . .

I think it is known that 4.4 will not build on Centos 6. There is no
"in place" upgrade path from Centos 5 to Centos 6 from the Centos
community. The supported method is backup, reinstall, restore. The
same would be true for sipx. As well, the 4.6 install method will be
changing, so it's a great time to check out the dev version (I think).

Installing a dev version is not really recommended in a production
environment (unless you plan to try out release candidates when they
are available and are aware of the consequences, etc.).

So the answer to #1 is = No.
The answer to #2 is = Yes. (I have a test environment to install this
on and see if the issues with FS are worked out yet, if not, I'm sure
someone will post when they are).
