DNS DNS DNS. If sipx is generating the conif giles, it is telling the phone
the SIPDOMAIN. This means the remote phone needs access to the ZONE via the
Internet (i.e., how the rest of the world resolves DNS, via public DNS).

So you need to look at the DNS and make sure it it setup with SRV records
and resolves to the hostname on the SRV record, not by modifying the
hostname as the proxy, etc. in the config file which many people tend to do
which never is a good idea.

You should also leave a message in the mailbox and then clear it through
the IVR and see if that helps get it synced (should not have to) by leaving
another message.

You NEVER indicated whether you have any non-default values. The config
files can say default, BUT if someone manually altered any settable
parameters in the phone interface, they override the generated parameters.
Did you 4,6,8,* (wipe local config) on the phone as suggested first?
