Dear Tony and All, We were able to register all our SIP softphones and ATA devices to SIPX through the SBC.. Out main issue is that we are still not able to register any of the Polycom phones through SBC . Please advise if you have any documentation or information on how to get this to work. Any help is highly appreciated Regards Saad From: Tony Graziano [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, March 05, 2012 11:57 AM To: Saad Cc: Discussion list for users of sipXecs software Subject: Re: Phone registration Plan On Mon, Mar 5, 2012 at 11:38 AM, Saad <[email protected]> wrote: Hello, We are experiencing a very annoying issue where all outbound calls are getting disconnected after 30 minutes. pressing Hold then Unhold will recover the audio path. As per the sniffer we see when a call is created by SIPX (either initial or after pressing hold / Unhold), the SIP 200 Message is sent from the SBC to SIPX with the public IP of the SBC in the SDP packet. SIPX establishes the connection first and all is well.
In the middle of a call, after 30 minutes, a RE-INVITE happens from the ITSP side of the connection. Since the packets are flowing in a different direction, the SIP 200 Message flows in the opposite direction, and the SBC attempts to connect to the SDP IP address in the packet, which is being identified as an internal IP address (Polycom Phone IP address). Tony Graziano has suggested to us previously to have all phones registered directly to the SBC instead of SIPX . We finally will receive a help from ACME (SBC team) to help us on configuring a registration plan for the Polycom phones on the SBC. Incorrect. I've always stated the SBC should pass the connections through to sipx using the public DNS / SRV records pointing to the SBC. Kindly let me know : 1. What configuration changes need to be done on the phones to achieve this requirement. 2. Any changes required on the SIPX server side to make this registration work?
