I think you are doing yourself a disservice because then there will always be two masters as it pertains to media anchoring.
the best thing you can do is use the SBC for both registrations (passing through remote registrations to sipx) and sip trunking. Besides that, you can decrease the roles sipx serves and it becomes very simple to manage. my 2 cents.
