Hey Adam, I would agree that the below is something that we need to tackle in SIS. My question to you is: is this something that is covered within the scope of SIS-11, or broader?
If it's broader, then I would suggest we: a) Find someone to take care of SIS-11, which it seems like Charith is willing to take a look at; b) Find someone to take care of the polygon issue, which it's not clear to me that Charith is signing up for. A pre-requisite to b) would be a simple JIRA issue in SIS-ville, tagged with the gsoc2012 tag on it, so that we can get folks like Charith who are interested in GSoC at Apache interested in a SIS specific project.
