Brian et al.,

I am curious about SystemImager V.next timelines. A group inside IBM
recently completed a prototype port of SIS to the iSeries (aka AS/400) Linux
architecture. It was based on SystemInstaller 0.91, SystemImager 2.1.1,
and System Configurator 1.9.1. I would like to get these changes into
mainline code, which would mean quite a bit of forward porting to the
SystemImager current tree.

My question is about when are the expected SystemImager time lines (when are
the internals going to stabalize, when is the next expected stable release,
etc.). I would like to be able to get these changes into mainline so that
the team that did this work can start testing straight from CVS, and we can
announce support for SIS on the iSeries platform.

(For those not familiar with iSeries, the following URL will help:

There is no silver bullet. Plus, werewolves make better neighbors than
zombies, and they tend to keep the vampire population down.
