Do we need the LOOKUP line in /etc/devfsd.conf? I found that on my ppc64
boxes that line caused a whole lot of spurious modprobe calls (whole lot as
in 30 or so at a go). Each of these passed '-C /etc/modules.devfs' which
appears to not be a valid flag with the version of modprobe we are using
(hence I get screens and screens of usage errors).

When I comment out this line, everything still seems to work ok.

There is no silver bullet. Plus, werewolves make better neighbors than
zombies, and they tend to keep the vampire population down.
