I've been chasing a bug on the ppc64 stuff for about 2 weeks now, which I finally figured out. Turns out that discover lists ncr53c8xx for a whole lot of cards including 1000000c. Although the ncr53c8xx gives some access to my drives, it doesn't actually let me write a partition table (though it doesn't error either.) Using the sym53c8xx makes everything AOK.
Given that we may hit lots of these issues, is there any way to make
discover have some overrides file or something? I just added that feature
to SC for just this possibility. I'd really hate to have to keep patching
the discover data file. Even if there was a standard format file we could
keep SIS addendums in which would be applied to the discover data during
build, that would be nice.
