Ok, things have gotten a bit heated here and I think a lot of it is due
to misunderstandings.
Dave, we don't want to consider this a "dead issue" we certainly want
MSC to be able to use OSCAR, SIS and systemconfigurator. We do have to
keep in mind the many users that this is working for, but I'm sure there
is a solution to satisfy both camps.
If I can try and level-set, here are what I see as the issues:
The way modules.conf is configured doesn't meet MSC's needs. The
solution suggested by Sean was to modify the call to systemconfigurator
in the autoinstall script and provide a proper modules.conf in the
image.
The Hostname set by SC is fully qualified. The suggested solution in
this case was to create a new SC module specifically for MSC to set the
Hostname as a short hostname.
Can we please discuss the merits of these technical arguments? If there
are issues that I missed, please let us know as well.
