[Sisuite-devel] Query as to rationale for certain kernel features

Looking at the kernel options that are enabled in the current i386 
kernel. Wondering, if size is paramount, why the following options are 
enabled.

        Power Management
        Kernel support for MISC binaries
        I2C support
Additionally, would it not make SSH transfers go faster if support for 
RNG chips were made available?

        Intel/AMD/VIA HW Random Number Generator support
And with regard to ACL support, why are bits like Ext3 extended 
attributes, Ext3 POSIX Access Control Lists, and similar FS-specific 
options set, but not "POSIX ACL support"? There may well be good 
reasons for these, and if so, I should like to know about them, as I'm 
likely going to be creating a new installation flavour to better suite 
the kernel to local installs (add in things like FireWire etc, while 
maybe removing a lot of networking stuff).
