It is my plan that we remove discover. And I must be losing my mind,
as I thought I had already done so.

Question: in trunk, is it using hotplug or discover to determine the
module needed to load a particular storage adapter?
By the looks of it, it is still using discover, which may explain why
when I remove the discover bits it could not detect my /dev/sda.
