I guess I have to fall on my sword and declare this not to be a problem. The best I can guess is I mangled the installation script when I first started testing and before deciding I needed my grub overrides. Bottom line is as long as I apply my patches the image copy does indeed work.

I'm trying to install an image that I discovered uses grub=20
v0.90 onto a=20
system with SmartArrays. I used my patched versions of=20
grub-install and=20
related SystemConfigurator pms and no luck. Before spending too much=20
time on this I know SystemImager went through a bad time with=20
grub and=20
am wondering if version 0.90 is old enough to be part of my=20
problem OR=20
if it's known to work correctly with SI.

Try with LILO. I've never had any consistent luck with GRUB and SI. = I'm not sure if the Compaq SmartArray driver is in the default kernel config (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/systemimager/systemimager/patches/= ). If the SI-image still doesn't work you can try using my kernel. See the archives for the link & instructions.

No can do. The image is already built and I"m just trying tocopy it as is. In case you missed the discussion, earlier in the year found/patched a couple bugs in SystemConfigurator and grub-install that now allows SI to work with SmartArrays and seems to be pretty solid. At least I thought so until I came upon this particular image it won't work with. The only difference I can see is that this is an older version of grub and am wondering if the problems might be with it.
