hi dann, thanx for the reply. this afternoon i dir download the 3.0.1 sources and tried a "make all" which ended in a lot of errormessages (remember this is done on a suse 9.0 distribution). should it be necessary go this road any further i will provide you with the details . but for now: triggerd by the phrase "newer driver" in your message i tried to use one of the "unstable" versions (3.1.5) of the boot package. this brought up the same messages.
